BRUCE KINNELL

Bruce has over 28 years of experience in fire services advancing from Training Officer to progressing through the ranks as a Senior Fire Fighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and District Chief for the City of Calgary Fire Department.  Bruce retired from the Calgary Fire Department as a District Chief in 2018.  He was awarded a 25-year Canadian Exemplary Service medal and bar.

He gained multi faceted fire service expertise with each position.  As District Chief he developed a hazard risk vulnerability assessment which involved wild land interface.  As a Training Officer he provided Incumbent training to over six hundred recruits as well as company officers.  His emergency response expertise involves interface wildfires, floods, tornadoes, train derailments, urban search and rescue.
